A Telephone Surprise Followed By a Day of Banality.

Today was cleaning day at 55 Morton. Litter boxes, dishes, rugs, toilet etc. screamed for washing. Therefore, the only exciting thing I have to report is...Tom Stoppard called me! I am so glad that I was unable to answer my phone when he called, so I have the message on my cell phone for proof. At some point, I will transpose it verbatim, but basically he thanked me for the note, apologized for not having time to get together and told me it was a pleasure to meet me. Unbelievable.
